The RSGB
The RSGB (Radio society of Great Britain) has been representing radio amateurs at home and internationally for many many years, well since 1913 to be precise (I know this because it says so on their banner above lol) RSGB membership gives you access to their vast bookstore (yes I know that non members have access too but members get purchases at special rates). Membership also gets you (with a voucher) free access into Bletchley Park and for me that place is worth the membership alone. You also get Radcom magazine included with membership so that’s not bad either. Recently with ICNERP rulings we had to calculate our EMF readings for operation, I wondered “What the heck, how can I do that?” Then the RSGB EMC team headed by John Rogers M0JAV devised a calculator that couldn’t be easier to work, boy was that the end of a headache. Every year they hold their convention in Milton Keynes and to be honest it’s a great two days of lectures and meeting others you may have spoken to before but never met, it’s also attended by many committee members I often see running the other way when they see me lol (just joking) They also represent British amateurs at Friedrichshafen, yes okay just in case, I know they didn’t have a stand there this year and I completely understand the reasons behind it after speaking with Steve M1ACB. I think the ARRL lads missed them too as they like to throw things over the top at them (according to one ARRL representetive). They do all of this and so much more. Through their various committees they make understanding rules and regulations so much clearer, Yes this is my view but why not look them up, check out their site Here
